About Us
During the day you can find me officiating gym class basketball or leading my fitness class through yoga poses (although I must say I need yoga for my flexibility much more than any of them!); or reading and rapping with my ESL classes. By night, I am working my buns off on the stairmaster listening to the latest episodes of my favorite podcasts, “The BS podcast”, “American Greed”, or “Against the Odds”. I am a proud supporter of the Buffalo Bills, Toronto Raptors, Toronto Blue Jays, and the Pakistani Cricket Team (the South Asian in me can’t resist cricket or chai for that matter!).
I am father to the two best kids in the world, older Z and younger Z and amicably co-parent with A and A. Although the kids have tried to convince me, we don’t have any cats or dogs. Maybe a cat. The neighbours have some cute ones, and I am kinda tempted.
Together the three of us are often up to some kind of adventure. Here, there, everywhere. On the court, at the gym, on the road. A quote that sums us up is:
“Our family is a lot like fudge. Mostly sweet with lots of nuts”
This is my first stab at a blog. I mean my socials (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) are pretty much an unofficial start to this. But “Little Scraps” is different. It’s organized. It’s the full story. It’s scary. Intimidating. And down-right nerve-wracking. But here I go. I aspire to create a community that shares and grows together, as parents, as individuals and as a collective. Let’s build these “scraps of wisdom” into something strong, tall, and everlasting.

Hi my name is Zainab and I am 16 years old andI ‘m going to tell you a little bit about me.
I’m going to talk a little bit about school as well as my broder pursuits and hobbies.
I’m a grade 11 student at Stephen Lewis Secondary School in Mississauga Ontario. My favorite subjects I’m studying this year are Business, Law and english. I’m also active in extracurricular activities. I managed the Jr boys volleyball and basketball team as well as played on the Jr girls volleyball and basketball team. Being active in physical education last year was probably the highlight of highschool career. I learned how to take initiative and responsibility in more activities. As well as enjoying myself while participating in competitive athletics.
Secondly, I really enjoyed my job as a camp counselor. Being a camp counselor meant taking on many different respontiles. As well as making connections with the campers and created bonds throughout the summer.
In addition, Traveling is one of my favorite things to do. Most recently I was able to travel to Alberta as well as Florida. Traveling to Calgary this year was amazing because visiting Lake Lousie has been on my bucket list for the longest time. Seeing the clear water and snowy mountains in person was unreal. Next, Florida has always been a favorite vacation destination of mine. We went there most recently to visit my family there and got to see so many different parts of Florida such as Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Delray and stayed in Boca Raton. Living in Mississauga I’m not used to seeing palm trees all the time so it was such an enjoyable experience especially with my family.

Lil Z
Hi my name is Zeshan and I’m going to tell you a little about me.
I’m 12 years old. Some of my hobbies are basketball, spending time with my family, and travelling to different parts of the world.
Firstly, I really do love basketball. Both playing and watching. The Toronto Raptors are my favourite team and even though he doesn’t play for the Raptors any more, Demar Derozan is my favourite player. My real love for Basketball comes from playing Rep Basketball for the past three years for JUMP Basketball in Mississauga. I have won both Gold and Silver medals in my divisions over the years and look forward to improving my skills as I get older and aim to play competitively for many years to come. I love training for basketball and even more, I love playing in front of spectators and hearing the cheers and roar of the crowd.
Secondly. I love my family very much, there are so many things we do together. One of my favourite activities is going to the movies together. It’s so much fun getting that buttery popcorn and watching an action packed or hilarious movie on the big screen with my family. It is always a good time.
In addition, drawing is something I love to do. I find it relaxing and I enjoy watching art hubs for kids teaching me how to draw awesome cool pictures that represent me and appeal to me. My latest drawings were of the wrestler Steve Austin, the logo for Kyrie Iriving, and the logo for the NBA team, the Memphis Grizzlies.
Finally, I’m going to write about some of my favourite vacations and destinations that I have visited over the years. I have travelled to both Cuba and Mexico. They were outstanding trips with my sister, dad, and grandmother. The food was delicious and the resort was so much fun, especially with a strawberry daiquiri in my hands as I was swimming in the pool. I have also travelled to the East coast of Canada, visited my cousins in London, England as well as Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and visited the Warner Bros studios in Los Angeles, California.
